I’ve been a licensed clinical social worker for over 25 years and have worked with a wide variety people in diverse settings including state and federal prisons, a military medical/mental health clinic, a health clinic for uninsured individuals, federal humanitarian/disaster responses, and most recently a women’s addiction and trauma recovery program. I provide therapy to adults to address mental health needs including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, maintaining sobriety, marriage challenges, and faith-related challenges.
I utilize cognitive-behavioral type therapies including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness approaches. Also, within therapy sessions, I teach clients to learn practical skills that can be used in day-to-day life to help address internal struggles related to challenging thoughts, emotions, and situations.
